8: Prince of Persia Sands of Time Trilogy/ Mainly the first game

Now Prince of Persia the Sands of Time is one of my favorite Gamecubes games it had good graphics and a great story. In the first game the Prince is just a young man who wanted to impress his father with his skills as a warrior. During the raid of an enemy castle the prince (who I will keep calling the Prince because I can't spell his name and prince sounds cooler) finds a mystical dagger called the dagger of time which the Prince just thinks this would be a nice war trophy but when they bring a magic hour glass home and the prince is tricked into using the dagger to open the hour glass. This unleashes the Sands of Time which quickly consumes everyone in the castle except the prince the Vizier who tricked the prince and casted a spell to protect himself and a captured girl who was the princess of the raided palace. Now that the palace is filled with evil sand zombies of death doom and despair.
Now it up to the Prince an Farah to find the Vizier and the hour glass to seal up the sands. So thats the basic story of the game so on to the game play. The game looks great very nice graphics for the time. The combat is well its not really bad but not good either its just pretty bland but they do a good job improving this in the other two games. However the best part of the game is its acrobatics. Running up and along a wall is so much fun wall jumping is fun and the plat forming aspects are very enjoyable. The time control powers you get from the dagger are so much fun to play with but you will run out of sand so don't screw around to much.
One kind of negative about this game is its length its only about 6 to 8 hour game (not 100% sure but its around that length) now compared to the 10 or more hour games of today this seems like its way to short. I would argue that its just the right length its fun with out over staying its welcome.
Now the game has two sequels that I have included in this spot not counting the new one that just came out because I don't own it and I have never played it. Now I can't give much detail about the other two games but I can give you basic story of the second and not much on the third. In Prince of Persia Warrior Within you are trying to escape a demon like grim reaper by going to the island where the sands of time were created. He is trying to go back in time and stop the sands from ever being created.
Now all I can tell you about Prince of Persia The Two Thrones is that the ending which I will not spoil is one of the coolest endings to a video game I have seen. So thats why Prince of Persia Sands of Time, Warrior Within, and Two Thrones took the number 8 spot on my top ten
